This place started as a retirement project for my aunt and her husband. They lived in Valparaíso and escaped to Catapilco on weekends to slowly build a place of their own.

Over time, life changed their plans. Their project came to a halt, and the possibility arose for someone to continue what they had started.

My father called to tell me about the situation. He said that, of his children, I was probably the one most likely to be drawn to a life like this. I came to see the place and found a small house in the middle of a thousand square metres of land — and a real possibility of building something beautiful.

Dasso is that dream.

The garden, the natural pool and many of the things that make up Dasso have appeared over time — not as isolated pieces but as part of the same idea: to keep building a place that feels lived-in, close and connected to its surroundings.

Like any real place, it keeps changing and finding its own shape.

Dasso didn't begin with me.
